He listed Bonchari, Kitutu Chache North, Kitutu Chache South and Nyaribari Chache as some of the areas whose choice raises questions. MPs have cast a doubt on the importance of NYS projects saying the same were turning out as bait for gullible voters. MPs argued that some projects are part of the scheme by the State to woo voters; governors have also been accused of assigning themselves credit to NYS projects. But Public Service CS Cisily Kariuki, under whom the NYS falls, told the committee that the executive has plans to have NYS projects reach all constituencies. MPs on Wednesday also warned that ongoing youth empowerment projects might stall unless the government comes clean on the recruitment criteria.
