Instead of celebrating Kevin Hanks' birthday next Monday, his family are now preparing for his funeral after a horror crash that also claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy. Before the crash Koben was ​looking forward to celebrating his 13th birthday on Monday this week with his "best mate forever" Macauley. More than $30,000 has been raised for Hanks' family on Givealittle, with funds being used for funeral expenses and ongoing costs. Hanks' funeral is next Monday at 1pm at Tararua College, Pahīatua.
