"Mr. Mbondo was denied a bond since he was still a threat to the life of his mother and detained at Sutlan Hamud station, his death could have been provoked by the court's ruling that denied him a bond", said Mr. Muthui. The OCPD said that the man used his shirt to hang himself in a toilet adjacent to the cells. "He secluded himself from the rest of the detainees, went to the toilets and in deception that he was bathing hanged himself using his shirt", the police boss told the standard. After the incident the inmates alerted the police officers who took his body to Makindu Sub-County hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
