The National Assembly/FILEThe limelight returns to Parliament as the National Assembly is set to vet President William Ruto’s nominees for key positions in three constitutional commissions and two state offices. The committees are expected to conclude their hearings and table their reports in the House before November 26, 2024. During the week, Wetang’ula took over the leadership of the Bureau of EAC Speakers from the outgoing chairperson, Ackson Tulia. Tulia is the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Tanzania. Wetang’ula took over the leadership during the 18th Meeting of the Bureau of EAC Speakers held in Nairobi.
