The Mount Royal men’s hockey club was in salute mode Friday night at Flames Community Arenas when it hosted its eighth annual MRU Remembers game in appreciation of the Canadian military. 6 MRU opened the 2019-20 season with a shocking opening weekend, when it swept the defending regular-season conference champion No. 5 Saskatchewan Huskies on the road. Fourth-year goaltender and Kootenay Ice graduate Wyatt Hoflin put up a heroic 34-save performance during the marathon loss in his first start at the MRU Remembers game. A Brad Kennedy miss opened the door for shootout hero Levi Cable who secured his Huskies side the extra point.
