Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is likely to be nominated Cord flag-bearer if the coalition opts for one governor candidate, political pundits have said. Cord is made up of three big political parties, Wiper, Ford-Kenya and ODM, and a number of smaller parties. Joho is facing competition from Wiper's Senator Hassan Omar and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti. Joho is the deputy party leader of ODM, and Raila Odinga is the leader. Joho has exuded confidence he will retain his position next year and run for president in 2022 against Deputy President William Ruto.
