Rarieda residents threaten protest over dry taps


Residents of Rarieda subcounty are concerned they may contract water borne diseases following a shortage that has lasted for two months. He said residents are suffering since they have to go to Akala in neighbouring Gem subcounty, 20km away, to fetch water. The acute water shortage in the region is derailing the normal operations and functions of learning institutions, health care facilities, and hotels among other government offices. Adhola urged the county government to move with speed to arrest the situation. Led by politician Netto Adhola, they have threatened to protest and paralyse functions at the Siaya government if the problem is solved.
