Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio has emphasized support for the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the UN-led political process. Di Maio stressed "There is no military solution to the Libyan crisis". This came in a meeting with Foreign Minister Mohamed Sayala on the sidelines of the preparatory meetings for the Mediterranean Security Dialogues Conference that commenced Friday in Rome. The two sides discussed the developing situation in Libya and preparations for the Berlin conference. They also reviewed the memorandum of understanding signed between Libya and Turkey and its impact on the Berlin process, according to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
