The sea lapped at garden walls on Martin St, Monaco during today's 4.6m high tide. Nelson has been inundated with seawater during a 4.6 metre king tide. A king tide flooded several streets near the CBD and encroached houses in the low-lying Monaco area early in the afternoon. The tide comes right on schedule according to NIWA's storm-tide alert schedule, which has the week from September 27 to October 4 as a "red alert" week for high tides.
