Celebs and influencers are posting these ‘old person’ selfies thanks to the FaceApp, a photo editing app developed by Russian company Wireless Lab. FaceApp is designed to create realistic transformations of faces using various filters and features, the first version of which was released in 2017. FaceApp also shows users what their alternative genders or even races would look like. Considering the photos one is seeing on social media, the accuracy is quite frightening.
