The 101-year-old Hamilton veteran served in the Western Desert - including at Egypt's pivotal battle of El Alamein - and in Italy. On Friday, he was outside Countdown Hamilton, with friend Francis Phillips, 87, collecting for the RSA Poppy Appeal.
