FORMER Iloilo representative and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) chief Augusto Syjuco Jr. filed criminal complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday against former president Benigno Aquino 3rd and former health secretary Janette Garin in connection with dengue vaccine mess. In his complaint-affidavit, Syjuco accused Aquino and Garin of mass murder and other related and resultant crimes through reckless imprudence and negligence, plunder and graft and corruption. Syjuco likened the Dengvaxia vaccine to the Mamasapano massacre, which brought about the deaths of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers. Syjuco also slammed Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales for having “selective justice” in favor of Aquino since Syjuco has filed 17 cases but none have reached. The previous Aquino administration purchased P3.5 billion worth of Dengavaxia dengue vaccine in December 2015 to address rising dengue cases in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Eastern Visayas.
