Customers of Manila Water Co., Inc. and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. will be paying higher rates soon as the two water concessionaires announced on Friday that they would implement a rate adjustment in January. Households that consume 10 cubic meters or less would see their water bill increase by P2.70 from P118.95 to P121.65. Those consuming 20 cubic meters would see their water bill increase from P445.56 to P455.74, a difference of P10.18. Meanwhile, those consuming 30 cubic meters a month would notice a hike of P20.78 in their water bill, from P909.54 to P930.32. Maynilad, which was re-privatized in 2007, is the country’s largest private water concessionaire in terms of customer base.
