Pradeep PareekDimapur: The Election Commission began the process for Assembly polls in Nagaland, scheduled for February 27, on Wednesday with a notification. The poll process has to be finished within March 5 as the tenure of the present 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will end on March 13. The Nagaland BJP has since met twice - at Kohima till midnight on Tuesday and at Dimapur on Wednesday morning. The state BJP seems to be caught in a Catch-22 situation. Nagaland chief electoral officer Abhijit Sinha said on Tuesday that they were fully prepared to conduct the polls despite several Naga civil society groups and political parties seeking its deferment.
