The accident took place on the Bagerhat-Maoa Highway near Kakdanga area early on Monday, said Jamal Sheikh, sub-inspector of Katakhali Police Station. The driver has been identified as 38-year-old Rois Molla, resident of Charboira village in Gopalganj’s Sadar Upazila. A passenger bus headed from Dhaka to Khulna veered out of control and fell into a roadside ditch, Sub-Inspector Jamal said. “The driver died on the spot.”The injured have been admitted to Fakirhat Upazila Medical Centre. Some of them were transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
