GEORGE TOWN: Disaster management agencies at federal level do not 'play favourites' when it comes to the issue of security. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said there is no truth to allegations that these agencies had failed to respond quickly to the floods in Penang. Shahidan said, by right, those who make such allegations should go down to the ground and help out. He added that on Saturday night when the floods struck, the agencies had provided necessary essentials such as mattresses, pillows and food aid to the victims. “Not only that, we even mobilised volunteers from other states to help the victims here,” he noted.
