College trains Eastlands youth to become self-employed


Living in Eastlands, or ‘Eastlando’ as most people call it, can be summarised as surviving from one day to the next with no hope of a better Eastlands. Eastlands is quite notorious for developing hardcore criminals in young men and women, who waste away their good lives to crime. The college offers courses to help the youth materialise their micro-entrepreneurship projects and transform them into small and medium scale employers in their own right. “I was enrolled at the institution after I heard about the Tujiajiri programme being offered to skill and equip over 10,000 youth and entrepreneurs,” Omariba At the end of the day, they are still our sons, daughters, brothers and, even better, our fellow Kenyans,” said Austine Omeno, the principal at Eastlands College of Technology.
