A parliamentary committee yesterday resolved to summon Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery for questioning on the rising cases of extrajudicial killings. “We have agreed to summon the Interior CS to give a comprehensive report on the murder of the lawyer, two other victims and recent cases of extrajudicial killings,” Kamama said. The National Assembly Committee on National Security and Administration, chaired by Tiaty MP Asman Kamama, demanded that Nkaissery appear in two weeks. APs currently take instructions from county commanders, a move the committee says has contributed to rising murder of innocent citizens. The committee threatened to revert the AP docket to the national security department to be under county commissioners, if Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and his deputy in charge of APs Samuel Arachi do not stop the extrajudicial killings.
