CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna on Saturday found fault with CEO Gopala Krishna Dwivedi for not acting against TDP leader J.C. Diwakar Reddy. In a statement, Mr. Ramakrishna said he had written to the CEO demanding action against the TDP leader from Tadipatri for publicly stating that he had spent ₹50 crore on his son who was the party nominee for Anantapur Lok Sabha seat. The CPI leader said despite a written complaint against Mr. Diwakar Reddy who had said that he had spent ₹2,000 for each vote in favour of his son, Pavan Kumar Reddy, on April 24, no action was taken against him so far. The State Election Commission and the Collectors of Guntur and Anantapur districts had not initiated any action against the leader. Mr. Ramakrishna demanded that the result of the Anantapur Parliamentary seat be withheld and police provide adequate security to people who were ready to speak as witnesses against Mr. Reddy.
