Dajahnel Amazin Young went on a day trip to the Kent coast with her mother's friend Cynthia Robinson and other church friends on July 28, 2018. But the girl was later seen floating in the water by a couple visiting the beach, an inquest heard. He said Amazin told him that she could swim so he tried to test her. Mr Robinson told the inquest he was a 'very easy going' man who viewed Ms Remekie 'like a daughter'. Ms Remekie previously told the hearing she told Cynthia to keep 'her baby out the water'.
