A British teaching assistant died on holiday in Tenerife after taking selfies behind the wheel of a go-kart that crashed, an inquest heard today. Kelly Slater, 33, was taking selfies and videos on her mobile phone when her go-kart spun out of control on December 27 2017. Ms Slater, of Burnley, Lancashire, suffered organ failure and later died of her injuries, her inquest was told. I think she had her phone between her legs then she started taking pictures pretty much straight away. Recording a verdict of accidental death, coroner Richard Taylor said: 'Kelly had gone to Tenerife with Mr Wilcock and attended the go kart track.
