At a stormy meeting, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has asked its six associated districts to look at deep financial cuts and far-reaching structural changes. Barclay told Stuff the way domestic cricket is structured in this country was no longer viable. "We are not slashing our costs, but how we're spending that money," Barclay said. "At the moment half our revenue goes into domestic cricket … I do want to emphasise that the relationship between the national associations and New Zealand Cricket has always been a tough one.
