As well as dragons, White Walkers and shocking character deaths, HBO series Game of Thrones is famous for its breath-taking filming locations. George RR Martin has expressed his love for New Zealand, along with a challenge for our local airline. Martin, who wrote the novels Game of Thrones was adapted from, has penned a post on his website titled "Thanks, New Zealand" in response to a video shared by Air New Zealand. Chris Pizzello George RR Martin has plans to return to New Zealand next year. Air New Zealand General Manager Global Brand and Content Marketing Jodi Williams said the team was "stoked to hear George RR Martin got our message and loves New Zealand as much as we do".
