By RICK GREEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — The Laconia Municipal Airport on is a step closer to receiving money from the state for design costs of a proposed taxiway extension. The authority has applied for a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to cover the entire project, but its request wasn't fulfilled. The request will be resubmitted, minus the design portion the state is now in line to cover. The state grant is subject to expected final approval by the governor and Executive Council. In all, the authority has more than $11 million in proposed work to preserve, modernize and expand over the next decade.
