Voters at last year’s Town Meeting instead appropriated $50,000 to investigate what could be done to improve the library at its current location. The Meredith Capital Improvement Plan calls for appropriating $400,000 in 2019 to design the new library, and the Meredith Library Trustee-Selectboard Joint Feasibility Study Advisory Committee determined it would be feasible to renovate the current facility to provide more space and better access. The trustees are considering several building configurations to meet today’s needs as well as their vision of the library’s future. The current library has 7,800 square feet of space, much of it non-usable. Friends of the Meredith Library, a support group, has donated toward the project and plans to dedicate proceeds its T-shirt sales to the building fund.
