BANGKOK: Low-cost carrier AirAsia chalked up another milestone when it celebrated its 500 million guest milestone today. The 500 millionth guest, 34-year old Thai, Dr Panut Oprasertsawat took AirAsia over the half a billion mark when he flew from Phuket to Bangkok on March 18, 2018. Oprasertsawat, who was rewarded with three million AirAsia Big Points and a vidi complementary voucher worth 50,000 baht (RM6,175), received a surprise upgrade to lifetime AirAsia free tickets for him and his wife. “Over the past decade, I have been able to manage my business in Phuket and Bangkok due to easy air connectivity. I am truly excited to be part of this milestone,” he said, adding, the Maldives would be his first destination.
