The government has announced the names of the 21 eminent citizens to be awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak in 2018 for contributions to their respective fields. The Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs disclosed the names of this year’s recipients Thursday. Each recipient will get a gold medal, a certificate, and a cheque of Tk2 lakh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the Ekushey Padak to the awardees on February 20 at Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
