The Hill Women’s Federation (HWF) has announced a dawn-to-dusk blockade on road and riverways of Rangamati on Saturday, in protest of the rape of two teenage sisters from a Marma family. The announcement was made through a statement issued on Thursday. The statement read that the blockade will be enforced to press home six-point demands, including the death penalty for those involved in the rape. Also Read – Two Marma sisters allegedly raped and sexually assaulted in RangamatiRangamti town will remain out of the purview of the blockade. In addition, ambulances, fire services, emergency power supply and vehicles carrying newspapers will not be obstructed during the program.
