Governor Mike Sonko’s Nairobi clean-up initiative has been extended from the CBD to other constituencies as the he aims to complete the drive within his first 100 days. ‘Operation Ng’arisha Jiji’, in its 30th day, aims to end the perennial garbage menace, clean. On Wednesday, the Sonko Rescue Team cleaned Burma market in Kamukunji constituency. Two weeks ago, county workers had clashed with the Sonko Rescue Team as the former felt their jobs were being threatened. But Sonko said the county will not pay the rescue team’s wagesKariokor and Kangemi markets markets were cleaned last week.
