The MB took up the matter after Mr Cabraal, State Minister of Finance, Capital Markets and State Enterprise Reforms, made requests for a pension for himself. Mr Cabraal also told the media he did not avail himself of the duty free vehicle he was entitled to. Despite demands by trade unions for a scheme for this category of staff, Mr Cabraal did not introduce one during his eight-and-a-half year tenure. At the time he retired, therefore, there was still no pension scheme available. When a new pension scheme was finally brought in, the criteria included at least 10 years of service.

New cases fell sharply from Saturday's dramatic escalation to 450, but were still higher than at any other point this year. As NSW moves towards 'Freedom Day', Victoria looks set to remain in lockdown beyond October as numbers threaten to get out of control. There are also increasing fears that parts of regional Victoria could be thrown back into lockdown just a few days after they were given their freedom. While more than 70 per cent of Saturday's new cases were recorded in Melbourne's northern suburbs, there were eight new cases in regional Victoria, including five in Geelong, one in Cohuna, one in Daylesford and one in Beveridge. Most of regional Victoria except Shepparton emerged from lockdown on Friday, with retail and hospitality allowed to reopen under strict rules.

She just turned 20 years old and is currently studying CIM, tutoring, and is, of course, creating content on TikTok – not only for herself but also for other businesses! I don’t want to give too much away, so without further ado, check out our chat with Sayoni! For the love of dance, I posted TikTok videos just as a means of entertainment, and it gained a following that was highly unexpected. I spend a lot of my time trying to help people with open arms and share knowledge that I’ve previously received in whatever way possible.

Your overwhelming verdict: 'We support vaccine passports too!' Those who oppose vaccines or Covid passports, and have taken to the streets to declare so, say they are fighting for freedom. Indeed, domestic vaccine passports are pretty unprecedented for Britain, in modern times at least. Every expert I've spoken to would rather vaccine passports weren't needed – I feel the same. And should vaccine passports, which must only ever be a temporary measure, be part of that, then the majority of our readers clearly think, so be it.

Yet the Government has decided to weasel out of it by dismantling the triple lock for a year. The rich get richer while the poor survive on a meagre state pension that in real terms continues to fall in value.' But he is worried that the Government may undermine the state pension yet again if it is short of money. The current flat-rate state pension for those who reached state pension age after April 2016 stands at £179.60 a week. Even as recently as 2019, the triple lock was set in stone as part of the Tory Election manifesto to 'unleash Britain's potential.'

An artificial pancreas to manage type 1 diabetes could soon be offered to NHS patients after a major trial produced 'blisteringly brilliant' early results. An artificial pancreas to manage type 1 diabetes could soon be offered to NHS patients after a major trial produced 'blisteringly brilliant' early results. So much of diabetes patients' lives are filled with self-management – doing fingerprick tests, making calculations to determine how much insulin they need. With the artificial pancreas, that's all basically removed. 'But the artificial pancreas has taken away the stress.

The construction of jogging tracks has come under severe scrutiny by the public on various social media platforms. A proposed jogging track on the breakwater of the Parakrama Samudra tank in Polonnaruwa caused much controversy, resulting in the Government suspending the project. However, the Government has suspended the construction of yet another proposed jogging track, this time in the vicinity of the Kantale Tank. Director General of Irrigation Nihal Siriwardana had reportedly stated that the proposed project in the Trincomalee District had been suspended. Apart from objections over the construction of jogging tracks around tanks, one of the key issues raised was the cost being incurred at a time the country was facing a pandemic and an economic crisis.
