Accordingly, returnees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be allowed entry into the country again. The entry ban was imposed earlier this year as part of Japan’s COVID-19 curbing measures on all foreign nationals who spent time in the six countries within 14 days prior to their arrival.japan

New Governor of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Ajith Nivard Cabraal says that a new economic roadmap has been prepared for the upcoming six months. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who left the country to attend the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, has arrived at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The President and the delegation were welcomed by Mohan Peiris, Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations at the Airport. The UN General Assembly is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, (September 21) and Heads of State of several countries are already in New York to participate in the conference. The Foreign Ministerial level conference of the General Assembly will begin tomorrow (20). President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to address Assembly on the second day of the conference.

Border Patrol has begun removing 14,800 migrants from a squalid camp set up underneath a Texas frontier bridge with the help of hundreds of cops and soldiers. The removal operation began hours after the Biden administration announced it planned to speed up deportation flights to Haiti – eventually increasing them to eight per day. Some of the flights are scheduled to leave from San Antonio, 150 miles from Del Rio, while at least two per day will take off from Del Rio International Airport. Residents in Covid-19 hotspots will enjoy the same eased restrictions as the rest of Sydney within hours as New South Wales recorded 1083 Covid cases. The state also recorded 13 deaths, marking the deadliest day of the pandemic. NSW Premier Gladys Berejikjian welcomed the signs the curve could be flattening but warned now isn't the time to be complacent. Nine of the 13 deaths recorded on Sunday weren't vaccinated. Of the 1238 with cases in hospital, 234 are in intensive care with more than half on a ventilator.
