Pakistan comes across as a nation which seems to be perennially at strife with itself, teetering constantly on the verge of implosion. The internal struggle for power continued relentlessly and culminated in the irreparable loss of East Pakistan. The cry, the longing for the real Pakistan, sprouting forth from each Pakistani heart, is fast becoming a scream. Pakistan cries out loud for the fulfillment of its destiny; for it to take its rightful, respectful place in the comity of nations. This cry for Pakistan is reverberating nation-wide now and will not wither away as just another “cry in the wilderness”!

The purpose of the onsite visit, he said, is to verify the completion of reforms to check whether it is sustainable and irreversible.

TDC situated at Murree Expressway near Phulgran Toll Plaza is such a wonderful institute that is a not-for-profit organization and provides state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. Thus, it is important to acknowledge the services of these institutes so that they may grow further to cater healthcare facilities to all segments of society in Pakistan.

US Consul general vows to enhance cooperation with Punjab govt

PM Shehbaz felicitates nation on FATF triumph
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday felicitated the nation and welcomed the announcement of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) that Pakistan had met all its conditions for exclusion from the grey list. “At its June 2022 Plenary, the FATF made the initial determination that Pakistan has substantially completed its two action plans, covering 34 items,” according to a statement issued by the FATF on Friday. “Praise be to Allah, return of Pakistan to the white list is a big success of Pakistan," PM Shehbaz said in a statement. He appreciated the performance of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and team of the foreign ministry. “I pay tribute to the whole team working for the success of Pakistan,” he said, adding that the statement of FATF was recognition of the restoration of the international reputation of Pakistan.

Addressing a media briefing, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that Secretary Blinken had an opportunity to sit down with his Pakistani counterpart in New York last month during which constructive discussion were held regarding the full range of issues, including the issue of food security. Imran calls for ‘inflation protest’ on Sunday

Notices issued on petition seeking Aamir Liaquat’s autopsy
The judicial magistrate (East) in Karachi has issued notices to the legal heirs of popular televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain and police officials on a petition seeking autopsy of the lawmaker who was found dead at his residence earlier this month. The hearing of the case was held at Karachi City Court on the petition of a citizen, Abdul Ahad on Friday. Barrister Arsalan Raja, counsel for the petitioner, stated that Aamir Liaquat died under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Karachi earlier this month. The sudden death of Aamir Liaquat has raised suspicions among his fans and it was suspected that he was killed over a property dispute. A petition was filed in the court of judicial magistrate (East) on June 15 seeking autopsy of the late politician.

The replacing coalition tried playing the just-arrived card and announced relief measures even before the budget and even more in the budget. It now makes sense why the budget presented in the Parliament has been declared ‘Provisional’ and the ‘Final’ numbers are to be presented during the session. While the IMF expects deceleration in an overheated economy, The Budget in Brief talks of ‘a growth budget’. The budget makers themselves are projecting FBR taxes share in GDP to increase marginally from 8.96% in FY22 to 9% in FY23.

FATF posited Pakistan with a 27-point agenda to combat money laundering and terror financing to avoid being blacklisted in FATF. Since being placed in FATF’s grey list, the Government of Pakistan in cooperation with Pakistan Army has been working tirelessly to undertake concrete steps in implementation of FATF’s action plan. Pakistan Army and state institutions averted terrorist attacks alongside presenting a fortified case for Pakistan’s exit from the grey list.
