(Photo by Jared Silber/NHLI via Getty Images)New York Rangers fans came into Friday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils with a clear hatred for P.K. Subban, who earlier this season tore Sammy Blais’ ACL on a slew foot. Subban was booed early and often in the contest, and chose to fight Barclay Goodrow near the end of the first period. It continues a disappointing season for the Devils, who have amassed just 19 wins through 55 games and sit seventh in the Metropolitan Division. After the two engaged behind the net, Subban appeared to try and surprise the Rangers forward by quickly dropping his gloves to gain an advantage.

Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned the “cowardly” arrest of Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmad Dar by occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA), the foreign office said in a statement. Arbitrary arrests of Hurriyat leaders, political activists, human rights defenders, and civil society members on orchestrated charges manifestly reflect India’s frustration at the freedom struggle by the Kashmiri people that continues unfazed despite increasing intimidation, harassment and reprisal attacks by the occupation forces, it said. Almost the entire Kashmiri leadership including Asiya Andrabi, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasin Malik, and Masarat Alam Bhat is either detained in crowded jails in India or under house arrest on made-up charges. The relentless witch-hunt of Hurriyat leaders and political activists by the Hindutva driven RSS-BJP dispensation on motivated allegations and their persecution on fictitious charges under draconian laws is in clear violation of the UN Charter, UN Security Council and UN General Assembly resolutions, and international human rights and humanitarian law, the FO said. Pakistan called upon the international community to compel India to abjure its policy of state-terrorism in IIOJK and immediately release all arbitrarily arrested Kashmiri political leaders and activists including Ghulam Ahmad Dar.

Duncan Keith played the second most games, 1,192, in Chicago Blackhawks history. He was a huge part of their success and tonight he will play his first game in Chicago as a visitor. — Keith has played his former team twice in Edmonton already, but returning to Chicago will be much more emotional. It is debatable who was more important to the Hawks’ playoff success — Keith, Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews . The Hawks’ PK has struggled under King (71.1%), so the Oilers just need good, quick puck movement and shoot when they are open.

Pakistan and Bangladesh are now opting for the expensive and dirty diesel to generate power as the nations struggle to secure liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments following a supply crunch due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In January, Pakistan’s diesel-based power generation surged to the highest in seven years whereas the LNG-fired output dropped to the lowest in two years, as per official data compiled by Arif Habib Ltd. “It’s likely Bangladesh and Pakistan will need to continue to use more diesel and oil in power generation,” he added. This would result in a potential rise in the power costs in South Asia as well in government subsidies to the sector, as well as slow down the pace of the economic recoveries. Also read: Additional Rs3.10 slapped in February power billsThis is evident from the fact that fuel costs in Pakistan doubled in January, compared to a year ago.

They need to tighten up their penalty kill, but the biggest improvement has come in their 5×5 goals for and against. If they want to be a legit playoff contender, their 5×5 goals against/game needs to hover around 1.7-1.85/game. They’ve allowed 47 power play goals and are a woeful 70.4% on the PK. It is remarkable how a team can be so good preventing goals 5×5, but so inept on the PK. He is scheduled to play game 1,000 on Thursday, March 17th v. Nashville.
