Talia Kulsoom and Umm-e-Kulsoom, 12th-grade students at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Girls’ Campus in Karachi, took the first position in the Physical Science category at the 2022 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) held in Atlanta, the US, the school announced in a statement. The ISEF is an annual event organised by the Society for Science and Engineering, a non-profit group headquartered in the US. The organisation describes the event as “the world’s largest international science competition,” bringing together approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 63 countries each year.

PK Halder managed to float companies in India on the basis of fraudulent documents. According to media reports PK Halder possessed two passports -- one Bangladeshi and the other Canadian -- but used his Bangladeshi passport to go to India. The sums were later transferred to another account created by PK Halder, the ACC said in its report.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will reveal his strategic plan, formulated in the PML-N’s meetings with party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, upon his return to the country from the United Arab Emirates, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Saturday. The prime minister, along with a host of senior PML-N leaders, visited London recently to meet and consult with his elder brother Nawaz. “He will very soon tell the nation about the entire strategy and announcements,” the information minister said. Aurangzeb said the prime minister would consult his allied political parties on the strategy and all decisions before making his address. She downplayed the nature of the London visit, insisting that it was a “private PML-N visit” that had been due since before PM Shehbaz came into power.

The federal government approved the amnesty scheme for those Pakistani nationals, who held more than one Pakistani passport, keeping in view the common interest of local citizens and overseas Pakistanis, the Interior Ministry said on Friday. According to the ministry spokesperson, the cabinet had approved the summary for the amnesty scheme in its last meeting on May 10. Section 6 of the Passport Act 1974 says that holders of more than one passport can be sentenced to a maximum of 3 years. ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Thursday intensified its campaign against smoke emitting vehicles for purpose of environmental protection. According to SSP (Traffic) Rai Mazhar Iqbal, special squads of ITP have been constituted as per directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas to conduct regular checking and fining vehicles involved in creating noise pollution or other environmental pollution in the city. ITP would also engage students of various schools and colleges to create awareness among the citizens to avoid noise or other environmental pollution. Mobile squads of ITP would patrol in various areas and fine those vehicles involved in noise pollution and emitting smoke.
