The Huskies overcame a slow start and took over in the second half to punch their ticket to Saturday’s 7A championship game, winning 51-40 over the Lions. Hewitt would find some footing offensively late in the period and end up trailing 14-9 after one quarter of play. Once again, the Huskies took to the court and had an offensive explosion early in the third. Mia Ada got things started with a three-pointer at the 6:53 mark and Hunter, Burton and Howard would combine to put the Huskies up 40-31 heading into the final quarter of play. The Huskies would spend much of the final period of the game dribbling the ball and waiting for the seconds to tick away.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll take a closer look at some of those position battles and who on the roster might have the best chance to leave the spring game with a starting spot secured. Joseph Charleston was a starter at safety all season alongside Jaylon Carlies and Daylan Carnell has nailed down the STAR safety spot the last two season. With those three spots secured entering spring, that leaves one starting cornerback and one starting safety spot up for grabs. Ultimately, I think the free safety position will come down to a spring competition between Burks and Johnson. The former four-star recruit played played more his freshman season than he did in 2023, but he combined both years to start three games for the purple and orange Tigers.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday named party president and his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif as the candidate for the country’s next prime minister and nominated Ayaz Sadiq for the slot of National Assembly speaker. The PML-N supremo remarked that if he were in Shehbaz's position, he would not have been able to work effectively under those conditions. “If we perform our duties with good intention, Almighty will extend his help,” Nawaz said. The PML-N supremo recalled that in 2013, the PTI made similar “false claims” that later turned out to be “nothing but a pack of lies”. Taking a swipe at the retired judges who had issued his disqualification decision, the PML-N supremo questioned their whereabouts, asking whether they could even face the public.

But on Tuesday night, the 2024 HTHS team took on Pelham in what would be a milestone win for their coach. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised a “strong response,” setting the stage for a critical moment in our history. The ISPR highlighted February 27, 2019, as a symbol of Pakistani resilience and the armed forces’ professionalism against unwarranted aggression. Another important aspect to note is that Pakistan’s military is widely recognised as superior to India’s, despite India’s efforts to control the narrative. The ISPR emphasised that on that crucial day, Pakistan’s armed forces clearly outperformed their Indian counterparts. This action highlights that Pakistan is not only a military power but also a nation committed to promoting regional stability through diplomatic efforts.
