Israeli forces have bombed a United Nations-linked school in central Gaza where forcibly displaced Palestinians are sheltering, killing at least 40 and wounding more than 70. The Palestinian Wafa news agency said that thousands of displaced Palestinians were sheltering at al-Sardi school, linked to the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), when it came under attack.

In our nation, that rationality appears to have vanished. Our education system, too, suffers from a lack of rationality. We also have a small set of people who become rational thinkers or promote rationality. These people appear on podcasts, on discussion programmes hosted by various organizations, and in other places, putting forward rationality. The lack of rationality underlying this discourse is almost frightening to witness.

Livestream Question
If live-streaming ensures we are setting good precedents for the public’s right to know, why is it then that the SC will reserve the right not to livestream certain proceedings? If there are concerns around the misuse of the court pulpit for fueling populist sentiment, what are the exact parameters on which the decision to livestream or not will rest? Empowering the public means letting go of absolute power and creating systems that protect against over-accumulation of power. The implementation of the livestreaming policy remains uncertain for now. The Court must, therefore, define under what circumstances proceedings can be livestreamed and under which they can be restricted.
