North Korea launches global cyber espionage to steal military secrets: US, UK, South Korea
North Korean hackers have conducted a global cyber espionage campaign to try to steal classified military secrets to support Pyongyang's banned nuclear weapons programme, the United States, Britain and South Korea said in a joint advisory on Thursday. It was co-authored by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US National Security Agency (NSA) and cyber agencies, Britain's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS). The FBI also issued an arrest warrant for one of the alleged North Korean hackers, and offered a reward of up to $10 million for information that would lead to his arrest. Internationally isolated North Korea, or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has a long history of using covert hacking teams to steal sensitive military information. In August last year, Reuters exclusively reported that one elite group of North Korean hackers had successfully breached systems at NPO Mashinostroyeniya, a rocket design bureau based in Reutov, a small town on the outskirts of Moscow.

Biden says passing torch to new generation will unite the nation

Imran Khan urges nation to prepare for fresh polls
ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Omar Ayub Khan, has conveyed incarcerated party founder Imran Khan’s message that the nation should “prepare for new elections”. Ayub, joined by leaders including Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Sahibzada Hamid Raza Kazmi, described today’s meeting with Imran as “positive”. He relayed Imran’s message to army chief General Asim Munir, claiming that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the current government aim to create a rift between the Pakistan Army and PTI. “90% of the public stands behind PTI,” Ayub asserted. Pandemic Fund kickstarts resource mobilisation with $667 million from the US

Software and hardware of Pakistani politics
Nation states are no different than computers if you think about it. The strong army and their skills and military hardware make a state’s hardware and the internal culture, the society, the people, their rights, their education and skills, and so forth make the software of a state. The strong hardware of the Soviet Union did not prevent it from imploding from within once the push was given by the CIA-backed mujahideen. I had the chance to watch the congressional hearing of Kimberly Cheatle, the now former chief of the Secret Service, this week. And while Pakistan too has a strong hardware, being a nuclear-armed state and having a large army, the software of the country should not even belong to the trash bin.
