A former President of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Tunde Amolegbe, has said that galloping inflating and the corporate earnings of listed companies are factors that may drive the equity market to outperform the fixed income market this year. On the outlook for both markets, Amolegbe said, “We anticipate gains due to a better macroeconomic landscape and resilient corporate earnings despite ongoing FX challenges. “The reasons include substantial earnings growth sustaining market sentiment and the potential impact of domestic interest rate policies on borrowing costs and foreign portfolio investment participation.”“Substantial earnings growth is expected to sustain market sentiment. Oyo monarchs meet Makinde over Ibadan explosion
The traditional rulers in Oyo State, on Tuesday, visited Governor Seyi Makinde over last Tuesday’s explosion in the Bodija area of Ibadan, which claimed five lives, injured 77 persons and destroyed 58 houses. Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, commended Makinde for his swift response to the explosion, adding that the monarchs had resolved to deepen their support for the government. Oba Alao said, “We’ve been able to identify three tracks. Following the leak and complaints to security officials, some culprits were arrested. Their arrest, however, led to some asking if they had done anything wrong while also raising some legal issues. It is worth noting that those who illegally access and download it are also breaking the law. While proving copyright infringement is harder now than in the past when films were produced on physical cassettes or Compact discs, it can still be proved. Protecting one’s intellectual property is not a straightforward process, and indeed can be very cumbersome (and expensive), but it definitely is worth it when you consider the vast sums of money that go into making movies.

We’re driving the long range version and while we didn’t have the car long enough to do a proper range test, we estimate it to be able to do 300km on a full charge in the real world. There are different motor specs as well, with the Long Range putting out a meaty 120bhp and 190Nm. It means, I can stick it in the most aggressive regen setting and then modulate deceleration with the throttle pedal. However, the Tata Punch EV’s regen kicks in much like it did before — only when you get fully off the throttle.

Police arrest couple for faking kidnap to extort N5m
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a couple for an alleged self-kidnapping scheme aimed at obtaining a N5 million ransom. The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, as he warned citizens to desist from self-kidnapping. Adejobi added that one Albarka Sukuya in Plateau State was arrested for staging his kidnap on several occasions, and one Nnamdi Agu, also faked his kidnap in Abuja in an attempt to defraud his family. The statement read, “In Lagos, a couple was arrested for alleged self-kidnapping scheme aimed at obtaining a N5 million ransom recently. “The couple confessed to planning the self-kidnap to raise N3 million to purchase a property in Badagry, Lagos.
