The Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2023 shows that hunger level in Nigeria is serious. Nigeria ranks 109th out of 125 countries analysed. According to GHI report for 2023, Nigeria is only two places ahead of India, which ranks 111th, and a place ahead of Zambia, which ranks 110th. With a score of 28.3 the 2023 Global Hunger Index, shows hunger level in Nigeria is serious while Central African Republic, which ranks 125th with a score of 42.5, has an alarming rate of hunger. Order Miyetti Allah leader’s release, Fulani youths beg Tinubu
A socio-cultural group under the aegis of the Fulani Youth Association of Nigeria has decried the continuous detention of the President of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, by the Nigerian Army. The group, therefore, called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene in the matter in the interest of equity and fairness for all citizens of the country. This was contained in a statement signed by the Convener of the Fulani Youths Association of Nigeria, Mohammed Suleiman, and made available to journalists in Lafia on Saturday. “The Nigerian Army is not empowered by our laws to detain any citizen. Subjecting him to illegal detention is an infringement on his fundamental human rights as enshrined in the constitution,” the statement added.

Security expert, Falegan offers to train Ekiti Amotekun corps
An Ekiti-born Security expert and a Member of the British Royal Air Force , Opeyemi David Falegan has offered himself to train the Amotekun corps towards combating the rising cases of attacks in Ekiti state. Falegan, the founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation (ODF) spoke with newsmen following the gruesome killings of two traditional rulers in the state and the abduction of school children and teachers. He said, ” Let me train the Amotekun corps because I still believe in the local intelligence, recognition of the local and domestic intelligence which are the local vigilantes , working with them can give tips and other information about suspicious behaviour to uncover who might be involved and for what purposes. ” This issue of kidnapping should not be seen from the political angle rather as a matter that needs urgent attention. ” Ekiti state government should involve experts in this area, in giving the government adequate advice in bringing this problem to an end by offering myself and skills without cost as a security expert.

APC urges elected officials to respect party supremacy
The ruling All Progressives Congress has called on elected officials and political officeholders appointed on the platform of the party to respect and take party supremacy seriously. The issue of party supremacy was recently put to the test in the build-up to the election of Senate and House of Representatives leaders in July 2023. Addressing the audience on Saturday, Morka expressed concern that there is a growing pattern among elected officials who he claimed often forget about party supremacy and start formulating personal policies once they assume positions of power. Once elected officials get into government, they begin to formulate their own policies. Alex Otti of Abia says his administration is committed to transforming the health sector, to provide residents improved access to essential healthcare services. Otti said this on Friday, when he received a delegation of the Revive Medical Team, a Belgium-based NGO in the state on a medical mission, in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area. The governor expressed government’s readiness to strengthen its healthcare system and overhaul the initiative for the betterment of the people. “When we say a medical village, we want everything to be found there; accommodation, and all necessary facilities so that people can come home and receive proper medical healthcare,” Otti said. He commended the Revive Medical Team for its services to the people of Abia and the leader ot the team, Mr Smart Oriaku, for singlehandedly bringing the medical professionals to Abia.

Another round of storms expected to pack a punch for California

A men's basketball player from New Mexico State University has been "indefinitely suspended" after he attacked a player from Liberty during Thursday's game. NM State Athletics announced their decision on Friday to indefinitely suspend Robert Carpenter from all team activities. RECOMMENDED:NM State Head Men's Basketball Coach Jason Hooten also sent out an apology to Liberty University and Coach McKay. In his statement, Hooten added that after the game Carpenter met with the other Liberty player and apologized to him "face-to-face." NNPCL to complete Warri refinery Q1

The Warri refinery is a complex conversion refinery with a capacity to refine 125,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
