The strategy behind the country implementation launch is to synergize the efforts of the Government, Africa CDC, and other implementing partners in increasing COVID-19 vaccine uptake. Flooding: Kano to demolish structures on waterways as Atiku donates N50 million
The Kano State Government has constituted a technical committee to expeditiously look into the prevailing flooding occasioned by the intermittent downpours recorded in the state. The Kano State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Kano. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has donated N50 million to victims of flooding at Kantin-Kwari market in Kano. He made the donation on Monday, in Kano at an event to receive Ex-Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shakarau, into the fold of the party from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). “We are going to send our N50 million assistance to the victims,” he pledged.

NPF-PSC’s endless clashes
IN recent weeks, and in typical fashion, a fresh cold war has been brewing between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) headquarters and the Police Service Commission (PSC) over the recruitment of police constables. Following the NPF’s reaction, the PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, told newsmen that the commission had taken note of the NPF’s publication with regard to the 2022 constable recruitment exercise. Incidentally, the PSC is headed by a former IGP, which should ordinarily make effective collaboration and cooperation easy and seamless. In virtually every government issue, the buck stops at a table, which should ensure that there are no petty and avoidable clashes and supremacy tussles. It is time those saddled with the responsibility of governance in the country sat up and saved Nigerians from meaningless clashes and supremacy tussles like the one between the PSC and the NPF.
