I read that people who do not wear masks when they go outside have some sociopathic tendencies. In general, someone who is a sociopath cannot understand someone else’s feelings or empathise with others. There is a range of sociopathic symptoms, and some people merely have certain tendencies and traits, but are not completely sociopathic. I know some people who have some tendencies like that, but they are not extreme enough to have warranted arrest or sacking from the job. Some people who have sociopathic tendencies can also be quite “cold”.

TEN years after the term was first coined in 2010, experts across the academic world have yet to reach a consensus on what constitutes a “predatory journal”. BJK’s assertion about wealthy publishing corporations being ruthless exploiters of authors and researchers is nonetheless an open secret. The said article is authored by two Czech researchers who based their findings on a Jeffrey Beall’s list. For the record, Beall, a librarian, compiled his list of predatory journals based on criteria that were widely said to be lacking transparency and best known only to Beall himself. Allow me to end with an uncharacteristically less diplomatic note: The next time you are hungry, do yourself a favour.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.N. aid chief Mark Lowcock urged Gulf states to step up next Monday when the world body seeks to avert a large-scale "man-made" famine in Yemen by raising $3.85 billion for humanitarian operations in the war-torn Arabian Peninsula country for 2021. The United Nations describes Yemen as the world's largest humanitarian crisis, with 80% of the people in need. In 2018 and 2019, the United Nations prevented famine in Yemen due to a well-funded aid appeal, which included large donations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, Lowcock said. In 2020 the United Nations only received just over half the $3.4 billion it needed, which Lowcock said was largely due to smaller contributions from Gulf countries. "This is an entirely man-made famine," Lowcock said.
