Multidisciplinary artist Jeganathan Ramachandram, renowned for works steeped in mystical realism, cosmic philosophy and metaphors from Indian culture, has died in Kuala Lumpur. As an artist, symbolic abstraction and deep spirituality had been the Selangor-raised Jeganathan's way of translating his innermost expressions for many years. Using an ancient method of dabbing, his paintings told stories about his roots, ideology, and often celebrated Hindu scriptures. Jeganathan, born July 17,1962, started out as a graphic artist at the New Straits Times before becoming a full-time artist in 2004. Jeganathan trained under various Indian masters, where he specialised in areas of fine arts, traditional Indian painting, granite sculpturing, wood carving, Indian classical music and Tantric art.

Amazon launched an affiliate marketing programme, called Amazon Associates, shortly after the company’s founding in 1995. Amazon affiliate marketing is likely a side hustle even for the most successful social media personalities, Schaffer said. A Dutch Trump supporter whose Twitter account was suspended still has an Amazon storefront with a section for “QAnon products”. Dice said Friday he “forgot I even had (an Amazon storefront) until you mentioned it”. He provided a screenshot showing he earned US$44.95 (RM181.71) from Amazon affiliate links so far this month.

Bill Gates is aiming to work more closely with Amazon.com Inc chief executive officer Jeff Bezos to combat a climate crisis that the Microsoft Corp co-founder said could dwarf the current pandemic in fatalities and global impact. His book, How To Avoid A Climate Disaster, went on sale earlier this month. “It’s a real test of humanity to invest in advance for problems that come later,” Gates said. In his book, Gates uses the concept of a “Green Premium”, the difference in price between a traditional, carbon emitting technology like a gas-powered car and its green alternative, an electric car. “Some people are trying to change the cow’s diet or capture the methane, so you know I don’t want to count the cow out,” Gates said.

The ceremony in the southern Philippines goes viral - only days after legislators took a key step to end child marriages in the country. Most condemned the groom and what one described as "one of the most disgusting traditions" in the southern Philippines. Child marriages are however on track to be outlawed soon in the Philippines, where there are an estimated 726,000 girl brides - the 12th highest number of child marriages in the world. There are more child marriages in areas that are poor or racked by conflict or humanitarian crises. But even in times of stability, archaic social and gender norms fuel child marriage, said Lot Felizco, Oxfam's country director in the Philippines.

CHANGES are afoot at Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB), starting with a board and management revamp at its wholly-owned banking subsidiary MBSB Bank Bhd. He stepped down as chairman of both MBSB and MBSB Bank on Feb 6, according to a stock exchange filing. Interestingly, the two EPF representatives, Sazaliza Zainuddin and Zaidatul Mazwin Idrus, also stepped down as non-independent executive directors at MBSB Bank and MBSB respectively upon the end of their tenures on Feb 6. There are no other changes to the remaining eight directors on MBSB Bank’s board. Ahmad Zaini attributes this to the fact that many government servants, who have continued to hold jobs, took up the blanket moratorium.

The listing described the item as an antique Chinese fruit basket with "beautiful colours and patterns" that represent "traditional Chinese culture" and "symbolise the happiness of life". On January 1, Holzinger-Burgstaller took over as head of Erste Bank and its 2,500 employees, combining the roles of CEO, CFO and COO. Among her goals is "to ensure that a woman never finds herself alone in the meeting room again", she says. After a stint at the Austrian Financial Markets Authority (FMA), she rose rapidly through the ranks once she joined Erste Bank - but had to battle sexism at every step. I’ve listened to people as they describe their “laziness” and how they feel “so unmotivated” to do anything after their day is done. In times before the ubiquitous message to grind till we drop, being unmotivated and lazy was better known as taking the time to rest when tired. It’s difficult not to be moved when people describe their tiredness and need for rest in terms of being unmotivated and lazy. How did we reach the point that to rest and take time off was seen as being lazy or not trying hard enough? Sunny Side Up columnist Sandy Clarke has long held an interest in emotions, mental health, mindfulness and meditation.
