With all the barbarism that is going around in occupied Palestinian territories, there is a dire need for the Muslim world to come together and communicate a sense of unity to the larger world. The occupiers of Palestine thought that with a string of ‘peace treaties’ with various Gulf countries, they would be welcomed and accepted by the masses. - Advertisement -They were surprised when people from across the world did not even hide their hatred for the occupiers of Palestine. During a recent settler rampage, Ben Gvir brandished a pistol, encouraging settlers to shoot directly at the resisting Palestinians. The Libyan security services seized weapons, which they described as “dangerous”, in the southern region, before they were smuggled to Egypt through the Jaghbub oasis, south of Tobruk. Following the act of non adherence to the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) employment rules by shipping companies in Nigeria, the union has threatened to sanction the companies. MWUN stated that failure of the shipping companies to comply would lead to industrial action by its members and withdrawal of their services from all ports, jetties, terminals and oil and gas platforms nationwide. “We wish to note that the struggle to get employers of labour in the shipping sector to negotiate with MWUN has been ongoing since 2019, a clear four years and still counting. “Unfortunately, this has not been possible, due to the recalcitrant attitude and indifference of shipping companies to the sad plight of their employee’s. plant by plant, which is in clear violation of our procedural agreement signed in 2014 with representatives of shipping companies which recommended a global standard for collective bargaining negotiation and agreements.

The Deputy Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed in a meeting with the President of Central African Republic (CAR), Faustin-Archange Touadéra, on the sidelines of the African Union's summit in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, threats of confiscating Libyan assets in CAR. The Presidential Council said in a statement that they also reviewed bilateral relations as well as the file of Libyan investments in CAR and ways to protect and preserve them. On January 27, the Libyan African Investment Company (LAICO) said it owned a five-star hotel, two residential buildings, and a piece of land obtained by Libya in exchange for loans granted to CAR according to an agreement signed between the two countries in 2007. LAICO rejected the auctioning of its assets, blaming one of its employees in CAR for it, and accusing him of refusing to hand over the company's management duties at the end of his mandate period. The HoR's Committee demanded an immediate halt of the auction and called for taking all required accountability measures against those responsible for this step in order to protect Libyan investments in CAR and other countries.
