Bishop accused of blacklisting chaplain over sermon on identity politicsAn employment tribunal is to hear the case of a former school chaplain who says he was blacklisted from officiating in the Church of England after giving a sermon on identity politics. He says that the diocese failed to defend him and instead blacklisted him as a "safeguarding risk" to children. He also claims that the diocese has never specified what the allegations against him were or shown evidence of wrongdoing. Speaking ahead of the hearing, Dr Randall said he had been deeply hurt by the Church of England. The bishop failed in any way to stand up for Bernard and is effectively seeking to end his ordained ministry.

The weakness of the security services in Libya after the fall of Gaddafi led to a lack of joint control over the borders of the two countries. This matter played a role in the growth of organized crime in its various forms, such as smuggling weapons, drug and human trafficking, and so on. Last year, the security services in these countries seized huge quantities, which confirmed the increase in arms smuggling operations from Libya. Among the most prominent of these operations is the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, which is deployed between Sudan, Egypt, Libya, and Chad. “Many firearms were seized during the campaign to uncover unlicensed weapons in Benghazi.” the Presidency of the Internal Security Services said in a statement.

It is said to have spent lavishly on the celebrations in an attempt to cheer the public up and divert attention away from the hardships that ordinary Libyans face every day. Parliamentarians, ministers, top ranking bureaucrats, members of the Higher Council of State (consultative body) are living a rather luxurious life while they blame each other for the misery of ordinary Libyans. Nevertheless, politicians, top officials, militia leaders and ordinary people agree on one thing: foreign intervention is making the situation worse every day. Ordinary citizens believe that all foreign meddling in Libya's affairs is bad, but politicians are selective. But it is the Libyan politicians who made that possible.

UprisingsThat message resonates in a country repeatedly wracked by military conflict and still traumatized by the collapse of the Soviet Union. The structure of the Soviet Union made its breakup relatively straightforward from a legal standpoint. Unlike the Soviet Union, where half of the citizens were non-Russian, 80 percent of the population of modern-day Russia identifies as Russian. The most important factor preventing bloodshed in 1991 was that Russia didn’t object to dismantling the Soviet Union. In the run-up to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the U.S. and its allies were far from sanguine about the nuclear threat.

Turkey won’t withdraw its forces from Libya until a new national Libyan government assures the Turks that the illegal agreement is confirmed by a national Libyan government. This Turkish interference in Libyan internal affairs is making the formation of a Libyan national government even more difficult. While most nations sent emergency aid to Turkey, international pressure is still on to get the Turks out of Libya. The Turks never had many Turkish troops in Libya because if any of these were killed it would cause a political crisis back in Turkey. Since then, a handful of Turks and several thousand Arab mercenaries have, at a cost of over five million dollars a year, remain in Libya.

He is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and its powerful new select subcommittee on what Republicans call the “weaponization” of the federal government. There will be national security investigations by two committees surrounding Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, which ending the 20-year war, as well as the U.S. approach to China. Since last summer, the White House has ramped up its ability to respond in real time to the House investigations, positioning personnel in various executive branch agencies to handle the onslaught of letters — and potential subpoenas — demanding information. The Biden war room streams news outlets including Newsmax and Fox News Channel as aides prepare for attacks by House Republicans targeting the president’s family, his administration and, ultimately, his legacy. The White House sees the far-reaching Republican investigations as potentially overlapping and even interfering with one another and argues that the GOP priorities are not in line with those of the American people.

U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said Tuesday it is important to get to elections in Libya “as quickly as reasonably possible to have a government that has the legitimacy of having been selected by the people.”“When it comes to Libya and its trajectory forward, I think it’s important to get to elections as quickly as reasonably possible to have a government that has the legitimacy of having been selected by the people,” Blinken pointed out in a press conference with the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, in Athens. “The UN special envoy is working in that direction, and building on the work that’s actually been done already to try to bring the parties together to decide on an appropriate path forward for elections,” he explained. “That’s something that we support, and we think offers the best prospects for moving Libya forward, and I think we’re in full agreement on that with our partners here in Greece,” Blinken added. Dendias, on his part, said that “as regards the efforts made on many sides, including the U.S., in order to find a mechanism to lead the country to elections, Greece in this respect is ready to offer in any way possible.”

“What is urgently needed is the political will to break the protracted political stalemate and achieve progress on multiple fronts,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres said at the latest meeting of the High-level Committee on Libya, taking place in Addis Ababa. Progress is sorely needed towards holding elections and advancing gains in security, national reconciliation and human rights, he said, adding that the UN continues to be committed to Libyan-owned and Libyan-led solutions. A UN human rights fact-finding probe in late January included testimony of extrajudicial killings, torture, arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, human trafficking, internal displacement, and the existence of mass burial sites. “They remain the only credible pathway to legitimate, unified governance.”© UNECA/Daniel Getachew – The UN Secretary-General António Guterres addresses the African Union High-Level Committee on Libya.
