Monrovia – A Liberian man facing a minimum 20-year sentence for trafficking nearly 200 Liberian women to Oman has skipped bail and vanished leaving victims angry. Liberian law allows defendants who cannot afford to pay a bond to offer people who will serve in their place should they disappear. Counsellor Wesseh A. Wesseh, Liberia’s Acting Solicitor General, said authorities believe Selebay has left Liberia. Under Liberian law, criminal defendants cannot be tried in absentia. Cephas is one of eleven people facing charges in this court term under Liberia’s new trafficking law, passed in September 2021.

But incumbent Weah is not taking the iconic opposition utterances for granted, nor is he willing to dismiss or overlook their power-thirsty platforms. The three iconic leaders utilize one familiar phrase: “Vowed to unseat incumbent Pres Weah at all Costs.”“At all costs” or “any cost” are virtually two powerful “idioms” found in the utterances of incumbent Pres. There must be some conspicuousness associated with the Liberian Presidency that may have provoked the vows made by the incumbent Pres. The Liberian Presidency has a gross reputation for systemic corruption, abuse of power, and preserving a lifetime presidency. “Incumbent Pres.

In celebration of the Life of Comrade Anthony "Experience" NagbeDuring this week, the Liberian Musician Anthony "Experience" Nagbe passed away. This way of solving problems made him a Musical Giant, as heard in the many songs that he composed, especially the song Africa Must Unite. In this work, many ways have to be used in raising the awareness of the people of Liberia and other parts of Africa. The Tijajlu music motivates people to work together through the Rule of Law to transform the UNFAIR electoral system into the FAIR electoral system. Yes, the song Africa Must Unite is very helpful in raising awareness about how Africa continues to produce raw materials for export without any prioritization of Value Addition.

The African Development Bank hosted it in partnership with the African Union Commission, the International Organisation for Migration, and the African Continental Free Trade Area secretariat. The forum focused on several themes, such as securitizing remittances, diaspora bonds, promoting trade and investment, enhancing research, innovation and technology sharing. Securitized remittances would offer African governments robust investment collateral and a source of financing through bond issuance. In addition to remittances, Africans overseas represent a source of much-needed direct investment, expertise and skills that can be transferred to businesses and workers in their home countries. Muchanga also stressed that while the African Continental Free Trade Area is critical to deepening pan-African trade, African countries must also be involved in global trade.

It can be recalled that on October 31, President Weah departed the country for Morocco and Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt to attend the MEDays Forum and COP27 respectively. President Weah extended his trip abroad by additional 25 days. The shameful truth is that President Weah and some of his officials are on safari and having a good time. I wouldn’t be complaining, except that they are doing it at the expense of the suffering Liberian people. “By his bad examples, President Weah himself has invited his administration to be indiscipline, deceptive, and wasteful of the country’s resources.
