The Swan Centre cineplex in Rathmines is owned by OmniplexIrish cinema operator Omniplex Cinema Group is expanding into Britain by acquiring five Empire Cinema locations in England and Scotland. The theatres will be rebranded as Omniplex Cinemas. The UK’s relatively small Empire Cinemas chain was created in 2005 following competition concerns stemming from the mergers of Odeon and UCI, and Cineworld and UGC. “This expansion is a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, and delivering unforgettable moments for our customers.”The former Empire cinemas will be rebranded in line with the Irish parent from this month. The wider Omniplex group includes the Swan Shopping, including a multi-screen cinema in Rathmines in Dublin, the Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, including a cineplex, in Drogheda, that was bought for €21m this time last year and other property assets.

Eilish then appeared at Variety’s Hitmakers awards, where she accepted the film song of the year gong for the Barbie movie song What Was I Made For?, and was asked on the red carpet by the magazine about “coming out”. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Eilish wrote: “Thanks variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking about anything else that matters(.) Doing so, they say, will strengthen central banks at a juncture when tightened policy and interest rates put them under increasing political pressure. Central bank economic models designed for a low inflation world, coupled to a data-driven approach (i.e. Central banks need to return to their core goals, of price stability, economic stability, and financial stability. An extended period of aggressive central bank interventions and unconventional measures to widen and deepen central bank actions in the economy should not become the norm. We would be better off too if central bankers and the public took a more limited view of central banks’ tasks, abilities, and effectiveness.

Two men arrested in connection with the seizure of €8 million worth of heroin at Weston Airport have been charged in relation to the incident. Gardaí and customs officials discovered 60kg of the drug when they searched and intercepted a light aircraft and a vehicle on Friday. The two men, aged in their 40s and 60s, are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning. Gardaí said investigations were ongoing.

He repeatedly told Mrs Robinson to get her facts right and accused her of finger-pointing instead of seeking solutions. “We’re in an absolute crisis.… and it’s because we have not yet committed to phasing out fossil fuel,” she said. “The COP president was unwavering in saying reaching 1.5C involves action across a number of areas and sectors. The COP President is clear that phasing down and out of fossil fuels is inevitable and that we must keep 1.5C within reach.

The panicked residents on Sunday stated that they have been experiencing the smell for the last two days and were shocked when they spotted water streams and nullahs contaminated. A resident immediately informed Chicalim panch and ward member Neelam Naik, who contacted the Disaster Management, Fire and Emergency Services and the oil tanking company. After inspecting the streams and nullhas, Naik demanded to close down pipelines which endanger human and animal life. According to Naik, a Delhi-based agency has started a survey and that their pipelines have been closed since November 22.
