Jurgen Klopp happy for Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo’s absences to be minimumBy Carl Markham, PALiverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he would be happy for Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo’s international absences to be kept to a minimum as his side begin their fight on three fronts in January. “I said if I wish you good luck it would be a lie,” he said ahead of the FA Cup tie at Arsenal. “From a personal point of view, I would be happy if they go out in the group stage but that’s probably not possible. “Nobody else can play like Mo, it is not possible – we just have to use the boys with their skills. “But we play Arsenal and you can lose to Arsenal with Mo Salah so it’s possible to lose to them without him.”

Rafael Nadal hoping to play Australian Open after hip issue in BrisbaneBy Eleanor Crooks, PA Tennis CorrespondentRafael Nadal is keeping his fingers crossed he will be able to play in the Australian Open after needing medical treatment during a gruelling loss to Jordan Thompson at his comeback tournament. Nadal looked poised to claim another straight-sets win at the Brisbane International when he brought up a first match point in the 10th game of the second set but missed a backhand overhead. The 37-year-old had surgery on the psoas tendon in his left hip in June after being sidelined since suffering an injury at last January’s Australian Open and revealed the latest problem is in the same area. Honestly, I am not 100 per cent sure of anything now.”Thompson will take on second seed Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals, while top seed Holger Rune faces Russian Roman Safiullin. At the ASB Classic in Auckland, defending champion Coco Gauff and second seed Elina Svitolina both eased into the semi-finals, while Alexander Zverev defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas to help Germany defeat Greece in the United Cup quarter-finals.

Dry January beckons — a month off the booze to let your body recover and reset. “Many cultures are far less tolerant of alcohol [excess intake] — people drink one or two, they don’t have ‘a session’. Quitting, even for a short period of a month, alleviates pressure on the liver and reduces accumulated fat there, says Ivers. If you lift that, you feel better.”She also warns that for those with existing anxiety or depressive disorders “drinking alcohol is like pouring petrol on the fire”. People have a thing about ‘how do you tell people’ you’re not drinking alcohol.

McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said on Thursday that several markets in the Middle East and some outside the region were experiencing a "meaningful business impact" due to the Israel-Hamas conflict as well as "associated misinformation" about the brand. Major Western fast-food chains including McDonald's and Starbucks have seen largely spontaneous, grassroots boycott campaigns over their perceived pro-Israeli stance and alleged financial ties to Israel. In October, McDonald's Israel said on its social media accounts that it had given thousands of free meals to Israel Defense Forces personnel. This was later renounced by McDonald's franchises in some Muslim countries, highlighting the polarized regional politics that global corporations navigate during war. As of fiscal 2022, the company franchised and operated about 40,275 McDonald's restaurants across more than 100 countries.

Felton Marans, Lakewood RanchDeSantis can't match Trump's leadershipYes, Ron DeSantis has been a very good Florida governor. But if it wasn’t for the Republicans in the Florida Legislature, some of the laws DeSantis has implemented would not have been passed. When former President Donald Trump was dealing with the border wall issue, he made agreements with Mexico. Two things are certain:America is one of the countries most responsible for this dire state of affairs. Last month, the court removed Trump from the Colorado presidential primary ballot; it ruled he is ineligible for the White House under the Constitution’s insurrection clause.

Before pandemic I used to run face to faceSEMINARS CALLED THE WEALTH CLASSwhile working privately and one-on-one with some attendees after a seminar, I learned many who have trouble making ends meet, who can’t seem to build wealth, also had problems with Conspicuous Consumption. They likely would see no problem spending that much money on a jacket. Note I haven’t run The Wealth Class since 2019 because pandemic hit shortly after. I remember Prada socks were popular with that crowdNow they cost some £471 a pair — discounted for a “limited time” from £496. And Yves Saint Laurent Sunglasses were also highly sought after
