Man charged in connection with fire at a premises in LongfordMichael BoltonA man has been charged in connection with a fire in Longford Town. Riko of Japan competes in the Breaking B-Girls pre-qualifier for the Olympics. In competitions, breakers take part in dance “battles”, in which dancers take turns to show off their best moves. Vitally, every dance is different, there is no routine to follow, and b-boys and b-girls have no idea what they will be breaking to. Breaking was introduced at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires in 2018, massively boosting its popularity and leading the way to its inclusion in Paris 2024. Most major breaking competitions have two or three throw downs in each battle, increasing to five in the final.

Revolution Bars surged after it revealed that its long-term future had been secured as its restructuring plans received approval from the High Court. As the sun starts to set on the 2024 Paris Games, what a mixed bag of fortunes it was for Team Ireland on Day 14 in the French capital. Mark English and Sarah Lavin gave heroic efforts in their Men’s 800m and Women’s 100m Hurdles semi-finals respectively. Daniel Wiffen managed 18th-place for 10km Swim in the River Seine, but the double medallist at Paris 2024 promises to party this evening regardless. Day 15 promises to entice once again, albeit Irish involvement is beginning to wind down.
