However, Mr Vance still hasn’t decided whether he will run, the outlet’s sources also said. “I know what you’re trying to do,” Mr Vance said Monday, when confronted about his previous statements on American interventionism. “We get along very well on this,” Mr Trump told reporters last week. This comes after Politico reported that Mr Vance privately expressed scepticism about the US attacking Iran before Mr Trump made his final decision.

Actor Chuck Norris dies aged 86
US actor and martial artist Chuck Norris has died aged 86, his family has confirmed. “To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. Chuck Norris during a campaign event for Mike Huckabee, then a Republican US presidential hopeful, in Des Moines, Iowa, in January 2008. His first wife Dianne Holecheck passed away in December, the pair shared two children, Mike, an actor, and Nascar champion Eric Norris. Norris also had a daughter called Dina from an extramarital relationship during his time in the US air force.

Clare student competes in All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad Final
Fionn Glynn from Rice College in Ennis competed at the National Final of the 18th All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO), hosted by the ADAPT Centre at Dublin City University (DCU) recently. The 100 finalists represented 56 secondary schools from 20 counties across the whole island and are competing for the chance to represent Ireland at the International Linguistics Olympiad in Bucharest, Romania this July. AILO is run by ADAPT, the Research Ireland Centre for AI-driven Digital Content Technology. These transferable skills are critical in preparing young people for a wide range of careers in computing, linguistics and language. The results of the AILO final will be released mid-March.

Two young children injured after fall from balcony in Waterford
Two children have been injured following a fall from an apartment balcony in Waterford city. A seven-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy fell from the balcony at Mount Suir apartments at 10.40am on Friday. A number of ambulances, fire units, gardaí, and Waterford City and County Council officials have been attending the incident. Waterford City and County Council has controlled Block C of the Mount Suir apartment complex for the past six years, where the incident occurred. Garda forensic teams are currently examining the balcony from where the children fell.
