The Commission was set up following the disturbances and killings that occurred at Ejura, in the Ashanti region, after one of their own, Ibrahim Kaaka Mohammed, was killed from a mob attack. This led to the killing of two other persons, for which reason the Commission of Injury was constituted. But, after almost a week of hearing testimonies, the Commission wrote to the Ministry, requesting for an extension of time to finish their work. The 3-member Justice Koomson Committee of was expected to conclude its work today, Friday, July 9, 2021, reports citinewsroom.com. Thus, the Committee recommends that the support extended to spouses of Presidents/former Presidents Vice Presidents/former Vice Presidents be regularized and included in the privileges of Presidents/former Presidents/Vice Presidents/former Vice Presidents.”The committee further stated, the salary level recommended for President/former President has facility/benefit to include office accommodation, residential accommodation, security, transportation, security among others. It added, when a President is out of office, the state is to provide a fully furnished office with up-to-date communication equipment and staff not exceeding four. Also, a fully furnished residence in the nation’s capital or at a location in Ghana of the person’s choice will be provided. They want to stop the government from making any payment of emolument to the spouses of presidents and vice presidents.

The central bank said all three commodities raked in some US$217.4 million for Ghana during the period. Over the first quarter of 2021, data by the bank revealed the value of the top 10 non-traditional export commodities for the country amounted to US$342 million as compared with US$292.36 million recorded during the same period in 2020. Leading the pack was cashew nut raking in US$128.7 million while palm oil earned the country US$48.07 million. Cumulatively, the Bank of Ghana’s figures showed the worth of merchandise exports recorded in the first quarter of 2021 was pegged a little above US3.9 billion.

As unbelievable and absurd as that she sounded, Ransford meekly obeyed and went back to the shop where he bought the bucket to return it. She asked what I was doing with the bucket of water, but I ignored her and introduced another conversation. She then tapped me by the shoulder and said “please return the bucket, and go back for your money. Please return the bucket.” I quickly poured the water and without even wiping the bucket, I returned it and my money was refunded.

Here is the six-engine strategic cargo aircraft that landed in Ghana
According to details via AviationGhana.com, the aircraft known as the “Antonov An-225 Mriya” landed successfully in Ghana on July 7, 2021 at around 4:00pm from Leipzig in Germany. Ghana is one of the few countries where the aircraft successfully transported strategic cargo which requires at least six crew made up of a pilot, co-pilot, two flight engineers, a navigator and a radio operator. It has the heaviest fixed-wing for a plane with a maximum take-off weight of 640 tonnes worth of cargo. While the Airbus A380 Airliner, the An-124 and the Boeing 747 Freighter are relatively huge, the “Antonov An-225 Mriya” is said to be the largest aircraft to ever be built for the aviation industry. The Antonov An-225 Mriya which carries a NATO code name 'Cossack' is currently the only fleet in operation.

€80-million-euro Bank Hospital to run as a commercial entity – Dr Addison
The hospital which will serve staff of the central bank and the general public will provide world-class Out Patient Department services, diagnostics, and medical urology. Speaking at a ceremony in Accra to officially commission the Bank Hospital, Dr Ernest Addison explained that the Board and Management following recommendations from the Implementation Committee opted for a management model of over three to five years. "The Board and Management decided to carefully craft a path that would ensure sustainably managing this hospital to best serve the interest of the bank and the country at large,” the governor said. “Therefore, the Board, having recognized that the bank lacked the expertise to effectively manage a hospital complex, initiated a process to partner the private sector to effectively and sustainably manage The Bank Hospital," he added. The construction of the Bank Hospital located at East Cantonments started under the former Governors of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Henry Wampah and Dr Abdul Nashiru Issahaku and followed through by the current governor and his two deputies, Dr Ernest Addison, Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi and Dr. Maxwell Opoku Afari respectively.

Recommenders and approvers of salaries to presidential spouses have no conscience – Dr Manteaw
In a Facebook post, Dr Steve Manteaw said that the persons and institutions responsible for the above-stated decisions do not have the interest of the country at heart. “Those who recommended, and those who approved payment to the spouses of our leaders have no conscience, and no regard for the Ghanaian,” he posted on Facebook. The rationalization of the payment of gratuities to the first and second ladies has irked some persons who have sought refuge in the Supreme Court to prevent the government from making the payment. Aside Abronye, two NDC MPs have also sued the government making argument similar to that of Abronye. An order declaring the recommendations in respect of privileges, facilities, salaries, and allowances payable to the 1st and 2nd Ladies of the Republic of Ghana as unconstitutional and void.

Military brutality saga: Ken Agyapong leads parliamentary team to Wa

You don’t have the powers to give us justice – Macho Kaaka’s family bounces Ejura committee
The family also accused the members of the committee of making comments which are prejudicial and expose their bias on the issue. It also noted that some of the persons who have appeared before the committee could act as witnesses in the criminal case currently being pursued. “Our regret with the decision to not establish this inquiry using the powers provided for under Article 278 of the 1992 Constitution. As such, the Committee has no power to (a) enforce the attendance of witnesses and examine them on oath,” the statement said. Meanwhile the committee has requested for an extension of their mandate from the initial ten days to sixteen.
