Bawumia, Northern caucus haven't treated us fairly - Agbogbloshie scrap dealers

"Unemployment is too much in Ghana and scrap dealers, we came down and sat here, formed our own business and it is helping us, helping our families, and helping our kids. Now, the government didn't create any jobs for us; we created our own jobs and later on, they came back and demolished [our structures]. "Me, I know that what [they] did, they didn't try for us; we the Northerners, they didn't try for the Northerners especially our own vice president. Establishment of forensic lab to assist NIC price fire risks - Deputy Commissioner
Business News of Friday, 23 July 2021Source: www.ghanaweb.comDeputy Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission, Micheal Kofi Andoh has said the establishment of an ongoing 3-storey forensic laboratory for the Ghana National Fire Service will assist his outfit to price fire risk. “For us as Insurers, the completion of this laboratory will help us price the fire risks properly and also help us in our claims administration. He added that the collaboration between the NIC and the GNFS will continue to grow until the laboratory is completed for use. “With the establishment of a forensic laboratory, effective scientific methods will be used to identify the cause of incidence including fire which will be merely classified as accidental and the true cause gone unnoticed,” Kunnor said. The establishment of the forensic laboratory which will be situated at the GNFS Headquarters is funded by the NIC and will be the first of its kind since the Service was first established in 1963.

Acquah told GhanaWeb’s Ekow Arthur-Aidoo that following his election as the students’ president of Stirling University, he had to withdraw from his PhD programme because the conditions attached to the position was that he had to withdraw from the programme and work for the student body for a year before continuing with his studies. Acquah explained, “when I won and started the presidency, they [Stirling University] wrote a letter to me that my funding had been suspended. I was in the school on a scholarship; so not knowing that, I couldn’t suspend one year out of the three years.

Ghanaian who assaulted Indian police nabbed despite fleeing, lying low
Asiedu's offence according to a police officer was assaulting a patrol police officer before fleeing the province to evade arrest. An unnamed senior officer from KR Puram police station who spoke to the Indian Express news portal said: “Morgan, along with his four friends, were creating a ruckus in the late night on June 23 in KR Puram. “Our police personnel had to jump out of the bike to escape the attack by Morgan,” the officer added. Despite being in the custody of Bangalore police, his arrest was effected in the town of Noida Sector 3 in Uttar Pradesh upon a tip off. He had absconded to Uttar Pradesh and was lying low in order to evade arrest.

COP Dampare as acting IGP: Two opposition MPs heap praise on Akufo-Addo
The two are: Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu and Peter Lanchene Toobu, MP for Wa West. The latter, who is a retired superintendent of police, commended the President stressing that the appointment of COP Dampare merited collective applause. Toobu added that the appointment “came at the right time," but also he expressed a personal worry relative to the specific designation of Dampare as an Acting IGP. "I want to congratulate the new acting IGP for picking up the mantle, but he must lace his boots to the daunting task ahead. I believe this time around the President got it right in appointing COP Dampare to act as the new acting IGP," he added.
