He added that the collaboration between the NIC and the GNFS will continue to grow until the laboratory is completed for use. “With the establishment of a forensic laboratory, effective scientific methods will be used to identify the cause of incidence including fire which will be merely classified as accidental and the true cause gone unnoticed,” Kunnor said. The establishment of the forensic laboratory which will be situated at the GNFS Headquarters is funded by the NIC and will be the first of its kind since the Service was first established in 1963.

Nelson Maxwell Acquah has vehemently denied allegations that he has been arrested by Interpol at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra. Acquah told GhanaWeb’s Ekow Arthur-Aidoo that following his election as the students’ president of Stirling University, he had to withdraw from his PhD programme because the conditions attached to the position was that he had to withdraw from the programme and work for the student body for a year before continuing with his studies. Acquah explained, “when I won and started the presidency, they [Stirling University] wrote a letter to me that my funding had been suspended. I was in the school on a scholarship; so not knowing that, I couldn’t suspend one year out of the three years.

According to the Pratt, the multiple falsehoods being peddled by government officials suggests there is a ‘godfather’ behind the scenes who is being protected. Kwesi Pratt’s comment is on the back of some statements made by Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu before the bi-partisan committee probing the initial purchase of the Russian-made jabs. Agyeman Manu admitted before the committee that due process was not followed in striking the deal with the Sheikh Al-Makhtoum for the supply of Sputnik V vaccines. “I had plans to come to seek approval from the House after I have signed the contract. “And I came to Parliament and informed the House that this is what I had done and, therefore, I need regularisation and approval...” he said.

Asiedu's offence according to a police officer was assaulting a patrol police officer before fleeing the province to evade arrest. An unnamed senior officer from KR Puram police station who spoke to the Indian Express news portal said: “Morgan, along with his four friends, were creating a ruckus in the late night on June 23 in KR Puram. “Our police personnel had to jump out of the bike to escape the attack by Morgan,” the officer added. Despite being in the custody of Bangalore police, his arrest was effected in the town of Noida Sector 3 in Uttar Pradesh upon a tip off. He had absconded to Uttar Pradesh and was lying low in order to evade arrest.
